This is the real adventure of a couple (Ana and Mike) following Bill Murray’s advice:

They leave their jobs and their apartments in NYC and decide to escape the city to travel to Asia for half a year. The movie covers their travel around India, China, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand and explores the complexity of relationship. He is an alcohol addict and she is dealing with a severe dysplasia (first stage of cancer) for third time in her life. The friction between idealized love and harsh reality increases geometrically as they spend more and more time trapped together, navigating day by day through alien cultures and geography. During the existential journey they face their biggest enemies: themselves and each other.
